For 200 years, Vault 101, a fallout shelter, has served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants. Yet one morning, you awake to find that your father has left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you’ve ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father. Fallout 3 is a singleplayer action role-playing game (RPG) that combines the horrific insanity of the Cold War era theory of mutually assured destruction gone terribly wrong with the kitschy naivety of American 1950s nuclear propaganda.

4 Stars Pretty Good.
I like role playing games and first person shooters and this game has a combo of both. Its pretty nice, and has a good storyline as well. The VAT system is pretty cool too but my only gripe is the graphics could have been a little better and if you played COD World at War you can understand where Im coming from. This game was definitely made for those P.C. Geek type kids-you can tell.
2 Stars Fun game when it works
In all honesty I can’t recommend this game to PS3 owners. Fallout 3 is a huge and complex game. While this may sound appealing at first you have to consider the flip side to that statement. The more complex a game is the more that can go wrong with it…and boy do a lot of things go wrong in this game. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had to start over due to various glitches.
Between random game freezes, NPC’s just up and disappearing, clipping through the world itself, reports of PS3s actually becoming bricked, and Bethesda’s complete lack of support (Downloadable content exclusive to Microsoft Windows and 360. No ETA of any patch whatsoever) I very much regret ever purchasing this game.

Fast review, I have been viewing this item for as long as 3 weeks and when I saw this item drop $12 to $45 from original price of $60, I knew I had to get it now.
The game, Fallout 3 is an excellent Shooter RPG, its like the baby that came out from Bioshock and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It exceeded all my expectations of the game and is my most favorite game this year.
Shipping was great with the Free Super Saver Shipping by Amazon. It surprisingly only took a day to ship to me and I was really shocked by that.
This game is a must have if you have a PS3 and don’t know what to get other than Metal Gear Solid 4 (I have already). From what I’m told, this game will last you at least over 100 hours of gameplay.
Only dumb thing was that the UPS truck delivery guy gave my game package to my next door neighboors because it was late and dark outside and didn’t see my house number, mixing it up by one house, but I luckily retreived it from my neighbors and enjoyed the game for the rest of the night.
5 Stars game of the year 2008
this game is playable as a 3rd person shooter but don’t bother. 1st person is your best choice to play the game. the level and depth of the wasteland is incredibly huge. you also have many choices to completing your own path. as of the time i have written this review i have not completed the game but its very addicting none the less. get this game and you will not be disapointed.
5 Stars Simply Amazing
I’ve been waiting my whole life for a game like this.
Fallout 3 is the most engrossing game I’ve ever played in my life. The thought process I have playing this game, is much the same as the thought process you character would have. You are learning, and growing right along with your character, and your moral choices are often based on need and desire, as in real life.
Almost every choice you make in this game effects how others treat you, and the opportunities life presents you. You gain and lose Karma, learn and hone skills, and explore a world that does not seem so far from our own.
There are some flaws. The perspective (1st or 3rd) are both poor. If you get motion sick very easy, then this may not be the game for you. You are constantly managing items you pick up because you can only carry so much (like in real life).
I can forgive the glitches, and accept them as personality to the game. It is beautiful, in a ghastly, scared out of my mind sort of way. This is one of the best games I have every played, and will probably absorb at least 60 hours of my life. Please give it a try if you are on the fence. The price cannot be beat.
